Steamup at Ardenwood Park, Fremont CA
May 26th and 27th

Two much fun! Two full days of running at Ardenwood were enjoyed by the group. Most people came for just one day or the other so the track was wide open for the most part. It was a fun venue because of the visitor traffic that showed great interest in the live steam locomotives that were on display.

Navigating the yard.

The BAGRS Shortline Module group had their spectacular-as-usual track up and running so it was a very well rounded-out attraction. BAGRS Live Steamers has purchased a display track from Rara Avis trains and parts can be seen in the attached photographs.

Track setup.

Wayne Foss, Kevin Yates, and an unidentified engineer breaking in the track.

The idea is to use the display as a starting point for a double track oval-esque sort of thing. This track, in conjunction with the portable track that is already owned by the group, will hopefully give us flexibility in hosting large as well as small events.

Sam Muncy's gadgetry.

Thanks to Joan at Rara Avis for supporting BAGRS Live Steamers, and to Harlan Barr, Wayne Foss, Kevin Yates, and Gary Broeder for hauling the thing up and down the Bay Area on Saturday and Sunday.
